I think that it is about time that I told you about Wheetie. Now for the start of this story I must take you back to the farm. As I have told you before we had a lot of animals on the farm. And we had some animals that were pets and they wanted our attention from time to time. And the time had very little time in between.
But for this story today I am telling you about Wheetie. She was a ewe that we raised as a lamb and I think that she may have been a part of the family when I was born. But she was to become a loving pet and was loved by us all. But there was a habit of hers that earned for her the name that she was given. When my mother went into having chickens she needed to have bags of wheat. And guess who was looking for a way to get to the wheat?? Wheetie!! She would try this way or that way and we had to be ahead of her in more ways than one. But she need not have worried. We were always willing to give her a handful but not the whole bag! But come to think of it, I am sure that she would had been happy if she got to the bag just once on her own. Mind you, the chickens would not have thought the same thing.
As she was a pet she was to live to a very old age. I think that it may have been 12-14 years, which is very good for a sheep. And through those years she was to give to us all a lot of pleasure. I can not help but think that children brought up in the city miss out on a lot. And one of those things is being close to animals and appreciating their actions and personalities. How special they all become and what wonderful memories they give to us each one
Till next time
Cheers
This is a simple statement but it says so much
Genesis 1:24
'And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle and creeping thing and beast of the field after his kind, and it was so '..
Just a couple of comments:
I try as much as possible to have a tale each week on a Thursday AEST.
Please accept my apologies the weeks that there are delays with the tales or even no tales, whether it be through unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances.
